does anyone know the cost of extending the warranty on an adventure, and what it covers. ie; is it worth it or not. mines just coming up two years in a couple of months and am wondering if it,s going to be worth going for or not.

I took one out on my last GS, it was around £200 and proved to be a waste of time.
My bike ate a valve just after it went out of the 12-month warranty period.
It was fixed, but my dealer said it was the sort of fault that BMW would have sorted out without charge.
Then I tried to claim the cost of my daily train fare into London while the bike was being repaired - as the warranty agreement covers alternative transport costs.
BMW insisted I couldn't have it as their prior approval was needed before claiming.
I asked how it was possible to anticipate the bike breaking down in order to fulfil this condition. They simply repeated their answer.
Result, two £60 weekly season paid for tickets out of my pocket.

Warranty no way!
The current cost of extending a GS Adventures warranty is in the region of £600 for one year! Twice that of last years, something to do with some change in rules, do a search under Extended warranty! Great value, no takers I beleive

£600 !! their having a laugh for one year, dont think i,ll be bothering, you can get a lot of repairs done for that ammount. by the sounds of things they dont have a lot of confidence in their bikes reliability me thinks.

Who would be best to provide breakdown cover that includes international travel when in europe (I only envisage 3/4 weeks away a year)
when i started to go to europe i enquired into them all and the
RAC & AA charge by the week and they were,nt cheap. even though i was already a member. the way i went was to renew my insurance with carol nash this way i got free european breakdown cover with my policy, it was slightly dearer insurance but the free breakdown cover more than offset this.
