Hi All, I had a quick search on warranty costs but I failed:blast

Just a quick question, I have a 2014 BMW R1200GSA and the warranty expires in May, has anyone extended the warranty and if so what are the costs likely to be?

:confused::confused::confused:

Not for the same bike, but I have it for my 2010 RT, £34 per month, no excess also includes full European breakdown cover.

I paid about £350 with £50 excess. The breakdown cover is excellent and has to be worth about £100 on the open market. So £250 a tear is easier to swallow.
It is about time BMW stood by their products and offered a 3 year warranty. Some cars come with 100k miles and 7 year warranty.... Even BMW cars have 60K miles and or three years warranty!

Yes, how come the Yanks get 3 years warranty and we don't ?

Had anyone ever bought an extended warranty for any other make? Honda, Suzuki, Yamaha, Kawasaki, KTM, etc.?
Parts are generally no more expensive so is it brand paranoia or are BMW's really less reliable??

Sent from my Nexus 6P

We only get 2 years here as well and they stopped selling the extended warranty.

I bought a new 15 from Procycles in Sydney in Nov 14 and purchased he additional 1 year warranty for about AU$600. Surprised to hear they have stopped selling this option, you really need it with these bikes.

I took out a warranty direct cover as BMW did not bother to contact me for my 2013 WC GS. Looking closely at it i thought that the WD cover was more comprehensive. I did not have breakdown cover (AA member so not required) but i am sure they covered more items some of which were deemed wear and tear under the BMW warranty.

Getting an extra year warranty free from BMW when the original 2 year warranty runs out in September this year (without it I wouldn't be keeping the bike )
