extra power socket for 1100

I'm looking to fit a car type power socket to my 1100 to power sat nav and moble phone. I've done a bit of searching but got a little confused as it all sounded quite complicated with relays and things. and people buying individual male and female connectors Is it not just a case of buying one of these and wiring it directly to the battery -

(In the picture does anyone know that the blue thing is and where does that fuse go)

Ideally I'd want the socket near the handle bars as my electrical goodies will be in my tank bag

I still have some of these left if you are interested

It's easy and if you need I can make you up a fly lead with an inline fuse that you can link to the battery

You just drill a hole and slip this thru and do up the nut

thanks for the reply, but I've decided against fitting an extra socket, I'll just use the original and a long extension lead from motorworks.

RE 1100 extra power socket, those who have fitted an additional car type one in the fairing area, where did you put it, I have been looking , and am struggling to find a satisfactory place. I did consider among the instruments, but a little reluctant to drill holes in my bike.

got mine fitted to the left hand fairing like on the Adventure then a double socket into tank bag to power cb,phone,etc satnav hard wired in anyway
