Extra power socket

Does anyone know how to remove the fuel tank cover on the water cooled Adventure please.

I have purchased an extra power socket from BMW so that my wife can plug her heated vest in and reading the instructions I have to strip half the bike away. A lot of the panels to remove are easy but the tank cover seems unwilling and I don't want to break anything.

I'm more than happy to do this on my previous GSA but the water cooled is somewhat different.:

I'm more than happy to do this on my previous GSA but the water cooled is somewhat different.:

May I suggest a direct fused connection straight from the battery, less strain on the system wiring & plenty of power available

... direct fused connection to battery, or lead out from a fuzebox/PDM60. This is where I have put the additional socket - on an alu plate. Connected to PDM60 under the seat. Can run heated jacket or compressor ... or whatever required.

Thanks for the advice which is by far the easier option, I have unfortunately now stripped the bike to the frame (almost).
