Guys, I need some advice!

Been out riding today and unfortunately had a problem where the bike suddenly cuts out when I am decelerating and then it refuses to re-start unless I cycle the ignition.

up to to day I have never had this issue with this bike (have done about 4K since may) the only thing that has been changed is the addition of a scott oiler touring kit. However I have done about 200 miles since fitting this kit over 2 weeks and this has suddenly happend today?

only thing I keep going back to is a tank of fuel that I brought on the way out of my last journey? but surely that would not be a intermittent problem?

any ideas?

but mine is not a F650 twin cylinder - hence posting in the single cylinder section??

A few things to be aware of that I learnt on my F650CS (single Cylinder/single spark) that might be linked

1) Loose battery connections caused loss of power and intermittent pick up etc which could at worse cut out and at best feel like surging - made checking and tightening these a monthly check as they seemed to work loose easily

2) Changing to iridium spark plugs smooths out a basic surging issue - note I believe this is not a problem with a twin-spark

3) If you start the engine and then immediately stop it, it might be difficult to start and also might easiliy stall or surge until it is properly warm - I think this is cos the engine management can get confused

4) Don't twist the throttle to start unless it really won't start without, again this also messes with the engine management.
