I have a problem with my 1991 k75rt in that it surges i.e that engine misses and on one occassion recently cut out normally at around 5,500 rpm or more.

New plugs etc. have not changed this , otherwise runs fine.

I had heard of the surge on r models cured by the twin spark plugs apparently, but not on k's.

anyone know anything?

Is the TPS set correctly ?

You should hear it "click" as the throttle opens.
Also check the condition of throttle "takeoff" rubber caps.

Long shot, but I would check the coils. Which I have to say, are a bitch to check, as they tend to only break down under load.
Anyway, my advice (for what it is worth), check everything else, but if you get to a state of absolute despair, its worth checking the coils before throwing it away in despair.

many thanks y'all. i think i will take it to a mechanic , he is one of the seven dwarfs on this site. if the ignition leads were "pinched" would it cause such a problem?
