F650GS vrs X-Country?

My mother in law to be currently rides an R65LS and is looking for something a little lighter and easier to handle. She has identified a pre china build F650GS as a potential - pre 2007 IIRC?! I have to confess to not knowing a great deal about BMW singles but do recall many positive comments about the G650 X-Country which AFAIK uses the same engine as the F650?

So given that my MIL’s requirements are low seat height and low weight, is there any reason not to recommend the X Country over an F650GS?

You can get a lowered version of the F650GS or lower one with kouba links, but the XCountry is already there and a lot lighter. Pretty much the same engine in both. The last xcounty's were made in China, are yellow, have a lower seat and I think a steel rear subframe.

Had both ... girlfriend Sue (Gracie on here) has had both.

Great bikes

The Xcountry is lighter than the GS, the later Xcountry's are a tad lower

Both Sue and myself prefer the Xcountry over the F650GS
