Hello,

So just purchased a F700, to partner my GSA. Looking at the riders manual, for torque setting for the oil filter. Cannot find it anywhere.
Does anybody know what it is or perhaps someone can point me to URL that has it.

By the way why is there not a Haynes manual for the newer version. Is it because
the previous versions there is not much change in servicing techy stuff between old/new versions..Dunno.

Thanks

14nm is for the 800gs. Most likely the same.

But. I've only ever needed to nip them up by hand. Don't forget fresh oil on the O ring

As shunt says, by hand and with an oil wetted seal. Wipe the outside of the filter so you can grip it with your bare hand and tighten to the German engineering standard of gudentite. It will not move and when you come to remove it next service you will not believe how tight it is.

Ah but on these modern bikes shouldn't you be using the metric nicentite standard rather than the old imperial gudentite standard ? :nenau

I thought gudentite was metric and the imperial standards were nipitup, f**kintite and titenuf. I may be wrong.

You would have to ask Haynes but they probably think the newer bikes are different enough for them to not recommend the manual for the 700 and 2013 onwards 800's. Ive bought one though for my 2013 800 as the running gear is hardly changed and stuff like torque settings should be the same. You will probably find that things like removing body panels are the only major difference, and possibly suspension internals and switch gear.
