Evening folks, I went out for my first long ride on my F700gs yesterday. The turbulence and noise was horrendous it needs a different screen. It’s currently got an f800gs screen fitted which is slightly larger than the OE screen but it needs to be bigger. Anyone got any good recommendations?

Go smaller rather than larger and allow the airflow to hit you and not be deflected/buffeted about by a screen.
I use the "normal" sized one on my F8GS and the airflow hits me un-disturbed at neck height.

Chap up the road has just bought a naked bike after years of riding large trail bikes and he was amazed by how smooth the airflow was around his helmet.

I agree the std screen is woeful. I fitted a Givi Airflow , bought off here. I have the top screen at a midpoint setting and at 5’5” it sends most of the air blast over my head. Its frame mounted and very stable at speed. Only small issue I have is the lower screen fould the OE handguards at full / extreme lock. I just dremelled about 5 mm off each side.

This looks like the current version

I had the BMW touring screen on my F800GS for a few months and for me it needed to be a bit taller and a bit wider. Found a screen that was exactly that from WRS in Italy; with the bonus that it was about 2/3 the price of the BMW screen. Check out WRS they might have exactly what you want.

Thanks for the suggestions guys, much appreciated. I’ve got the original diddy screen which I will try again but I’m not hopeful.

Which model Wrs did you go for please? Given it only has the lower mounts does it not wobble a lot?

At this point I cannot remember what WRS called this particular screen as it’s been on the bike for about 12 years. If it wobbles at all then it’s not enough for me to notice, even on a gravel road. I don’t know what they call this one, but it looks like this:

Interesting why the slot at the top?

It evens out the air flow and prevents having a low pressure area behind the screen which can cause turbulence, noise around your helmet, and that feeling of being ‘pushed’ forwards.
