Although I've titled this thread sticking throttle, it's more of a slow shut down when I roll off approaching road junctions etc, the revs are slow to subside and tend to settle at around 1200/1300 rpm which feels a bit high.
When I approach a junction it has the effect of pushing the bike on into the junction the rather than retarding it, I'm reluctant to adjust the throttle stop at this stage as I think that this will be treating the symptom rather than the cause...any ideas?:nenau

Has this just happened? F800s don't have patulicarley strong engine breaking. JJH

Hi JJH,

Yes, I've not had the bike long, it didn't do his when I got it, I've done a few jobs, replaced the main left hand panel (the one with the large GS decal) had the air filter out to check it's condition and changed the oil and filter. had the bars off to get the top yoke repainted (left all cables etc connected just hung the bars from the ceiling), fitted new tyres...and gave it a good clean....nothing too serious.

Wondered if they had any electronic gizmos that give these symptoms, to be fair I haven't got stuck in to sort it out yet, it was just easy to ask the question on here first.

If it's only doing it now there's somthing causing it. I wonder if it's anything to do with when the bars were of? Check for free play in the throttle cable. I can't remember wheater there's a cable or not. Old age. JJH

Plus 1 for this , quick ckeck , whilst on its stand. Let bike tick over then move bars to full lock right and left. If revs rise something is tight and catching.

What year is your f800? on pre 2013 bikes it is possible to slide the throttle assembly along to give more clearance from the bar end weight. post 2013 you need to add a couple of washers to give clearance.
