F800GS aux lights

Per chance ... I have a brand new pair of Wunderlich 'Flooters' for sale, in the box, full instructions, mounting, wiring etc.

Micky those light units look like the ones I bought from Halfords for £29 and SiJOhnston bought from a motofactors place in NI. Admittedly minus the fancy wunderlich alu housing and loom.

Would those be the Ring Cruise Lite lights? If so how did you wire them up?

GS800 just too high

Help, I may have been a little rash but I have just bought a 800GS and found that it's a bit on the tall side! One ride and I just fell in love, best ride I've had for a long time. Can anyone recommend which is the best way to lower the bike?

Inside leg is around 29" and the bike already appears to have the lower seat.

Is dropping the forks through the yolk about an 1" an option?

Alternatively, get platform boots. I kid ye not. Daytona M Star GTX: 1" platform that you don't even see :comfort I have a pair for sale (42) I had for the 1200 Adv :augie Don't need them now on the 800 :thumb
 
I have an inside leg 29" and with a Wunderlich seat (in between the BMW's own high/low seats manage just fine :thumb

I'm 5' 6" all but a quarter and have a 28" inside leg. I just have the low seat with the suspension reigned in!!! Works just fine :confused:

I'm 5' 7" with an inside leg of 29". Done 33000 miles now. You just have to read the road a bit when coming to a stop. Stay with it or get the lower seat.

@Indaba those are indeed the ring lamps. In the end I didn't wire them up. I was out with Si Johnston and he had the same ones and with everything running they drained the battery. he had the heated grips, lights, heated jacket on all at the same time. On that basis I didn't install mine.

I will be sticking with an LED setup from now on.

Thanks for the info. I have heated grips but not the heated jacket and where the wife and I are going (Africa) I don't think I'll need the grips on ;) Got some of these yesterday from Halfords together with the wiring kit - just need a switch (probably from Les at this parish :D ) and some method of fixing - hopefully that should be OK but we shall see - much cheaper than the Wunderlich offering anyway.

To be fair Si didn't have a switch so with some strategic usage of all these devices the battery should be fine.
 
Nippy Normans supply Touratech, Wunderlich, Desert Fox and many other makes of accessories.
