I've my f800gs two years now and from 1 September can remove the restrictor from the throttle. As I'm used to the bike as is, has anyone ever tried riding with and without so as to advise on the difference removing it will make?

Remove the restrictor, it's like being on a different bike, removing the restriction makes it so much more flexible...and faster!!

Low down probably not much of a difference, but you'll get to speed much faster and with much less throttle pegging/effort.
More scope to be a hooligan really. :D

what restrictor?

Might be a silly question but do they come with a restrictor fitted?

Nope, got the dealer to fit it when I bought it. Will get them to take it off. Can't remember who manufactured it - some german crowd I think but they sourced and fitted it.

I'll be pulling wheelies (involuntarily mind you) soon!

For information:
I checked my "Certificate of Fitment". Installed by BMW Joe Duffy Motorrad in accordance with fitting instructions supllied by the manufacture - Fi International (UK company, not German as previously thought).

A copy of the Cert is kept by FI international "who may be required to produce it to the police, crown prosecution service or an insurance company".
