Asked a couple of dealers about partex my 17 plate F800GSA for low miles 21 plate F850GSA which a still over 10K asking. My F800GSA has 31K never gone wrong, well maintained but dealer don't want bikes over 30K miles. I liked my F800gsa low center of gravity with its fuel low at the back and wonder wether the f850 fuel high at the front will spoil cornering. Maybe a triumph 900 rally dealer will take my F800 on paper the Triumph seems at better bike than the F850GSA lighter?

The 900 will be smoother as it is a triple. Feel and weight is only something you can decide. As you have alluded to its where the weight is carried. Get to a few dealers and have a feel of the bikes, ideally a test ride. Dont rule out the Suzuki VStrom 800, owners rave about them, not something you hear from F850/750 owners🤔

On a side note I part exed my F650 gs with Williams Motorrad Manchester , it was 35k they never batted an eyelid. I keep an eye on the mot records and its over 60k now!

You might notice the weight when stationary, but like most bikes it will disappear when moving.

I'm also considering changing my F800GSA for an 850GSA...!

The appeal is the 270 firing order a 360 sounds crap even with aftermarket pipe but the F800 has been solid quality and good for another 30K

Whatever you do. Do not move to the 850 from the 800.
Everything that was good about the 750/800 got thrown out with the 850 despite all the testers and schools telling them as such.
Move to the 900 if staying with BMW.

thankyou for your insight. Just thinking about it. Got to admit hit some empty tight 50mph bends on my f800 at the weekend and it swung left and right with ease (lithium battery up top tank under seat) possibly the 850 would be top heavy with that massive tank up high.

It’s more the changes they made to the entire bike.
It’s a dud.
Put it this way.
ORS had 12x 750’s
ORS had 12x 800’s
ORS had 2x 850’s
ORD have 12x 900’s
