F800s

I had an F800S courtesy bike today whilst my K1200S was in the dealers.

What a horrible little bike. The Suzuki SV650 is a much nicer starter bike and £2K cheaper.

The engine will probably suit a GS version, but it certainly isn't a sportsbike engine.

'favours'

Haven't ridden the 800 but the missus had the 650CS here last summer---cornered as if on rails but that horrible belt drive  no cush drive effect or accomodating chain slack---just instant drive which meant a very jerky ride at town speeds with that lumpy single cylinder---to think it's sold as a city bike  can't imagine the 800 is any different judging by the comments over on the owners site.

Buy a TRX850.........and save £5-6K!

Only difference is the badge and a chain, but it has a 270 degree crank so it fires/sounds like a V-twin.

Love mine!

I have to agree having just traded my nice '97 model for the 1200GS. Most under-rated jap bike ever IMHO. :thumb Still trying to decide if I made a mistake or not. It's funny how BMW copies a 10 year old jap design and calls it new....

A GS version would be something though... :beerjug:

This would be the new F800GS that my local stealer reckons is not going to be made!

Was in Williams manchester yesterday pm to pick up my 12, asked about the 800gs for the better half "it wont be next year" is the quote from their senior sales man!
having said that it wouldn't be the first time williams were wrong!
