Yes the bike broke down on my european bike trip (FPC AND FINAL DRIVE) but BMW assistance got me a taxi to Vienna airport, BA flight Heathrow, Hire car to home, the bike was fixed they paid for my petrol to Stanstead (£60) Flight back out to Linz in Austria and ferry home. I have now recieved my cheque for the repairs that I had to pay out (£1550) and a credit note for £350 to make up for the dissapointments that I had.

They have kept me informed and upto date and whilst I would of prefered not to have this happen I still think this was good customer service, well done BMW.

If they only took as much care when making the bike in the first place.

:):):)

and so they should, i dnt even see why you should have had to even pay a penny in the 1st place

when my 05 1200 was 18 months old I rode up the arse of a car at 50mph in France,
I snapped the front end off it,only hanging on by the wiring etc, also broke both wrists, anyway I phoned bmw assist from the roadside and they spoke to the recovery driver who was called by the Gendarmes,he didnt speak any english,he gave me the phone back and they told me to go with him to his yard half an hour away, when we got there a pukka merc taxi was waiting to take me 150 miles to charles de gaul airport, british airways met me at the entrance and put me on the plane to Bristol,at Bristol a nice taxi was waiting to take me home.

5 hrs from binning it to my house and they kept ringing me every 30 mins to make sure I was ok.:thumb2

I don't think I will get that service with carol nash somehow.

10 days later I got the bike back.

Carol Nash european recovery is also excellent, when my 650 broke down they got me back to the UK (flights), had the bike took to the garage, repaired and flew me back out. :thumb2

Im glad to hear that carol nash are good when it comes to the crunch so to speak!:clap

Didnt want to go to a french hospital, figured I'd wait until I got back home.

I was gonna go to a french hospital and have them seen to but the insurance then informed me that they only supply a car to continue your forward journey, didnt want that so I just said get me home asap and thay did.

I had both wrists put in plaster on the friday evening,Saturday I borrowed a 1200s bandit:bow and was on the ferry back to France on the sunday and had a mad tour of France Spain Italy and into Germany for the world cup in Berlin.:bounce1

Poor service. Not impressed at all.

If they'd have chucked in a high class hooker for a night, then that would be impressive...:D
