its carbon, therefore likely handmade.

Just get a mudsling, still expensive for injection moulded plastic but proven.
 
I think a hugger on an adventure bike in conjunction with mud flap thing attached to the end of the drive shaft, just looks wrong.
 
ETA for the MudSling is end of the year (according to the Oracle Nutty), quite what they're arseing about at is anyone's guess!

But I'm in agreement, that hugger looks a bit odd and I don't think it will be as effective as a MudSling.
 
I have not seen these for the GS WC, any been made yet?

they just look wrong to me. don't seem to do anything either.

i fitted one on my first 12GSA, and then took it straight off again and sold it.

OEM mudguard thing was ditched when i brought the bike back from the dealers too.

Without a doubt:thumb Trouble is, the mudsling STILL hasn't been released, so the back of the bike is getting a peppering. Oh well, it'll be another reason to chop it in next year!:P:D
 
I had a (used) Ilmberger carbon hugger on my Mk2 1200. It was too short so did nothing to stop muck getting thrown about.

The Mudsling helps (quite a lot), but a mudguard that extends the TUV shovel enough to protect the rear shock would stop a lot more dirt flying about. Make it QD (maybe with Dzuz fasteners) for use in off road mud.

TBH I cant see why the back wheel cant have a mudguard like the front wheel does. It could be attached with Dzuz fasteners for those who like the mucky look.
 
BMW dealers are obtaining and selling them.

OK if you're going to stay firmly on-road and then some.

Agree hopeless if going offroad.
