Farkle development including the front crud

Latest farkle

Hi Guys, here is the latest - an unashamed indulgence - I need a rack for my new LC because the original one is:

1. getting scratched easily (too easily....)
2. not big enough
3. not strap friendly

And I also wanted some secure way of mounting an extra fuel `pak` (Rotopak) as I have been spoilt with my GSA range. However the bracket could be used to mount lights, antenna or anything I guess.......

TBH its not in the same league as the rad protectors but its got lovely logo etching and etching which follows the orignal shape. It sits on machined buses to keep it off and above the original rack.

Aha - I need to sort out the phtoto`s - will post later........

Tourer looks to be the one....have to agree with Magnon though and would lose the arc and go for a more angular approach and wouldn't make the cut out so deep so as to give more protection....appreciate we all have different views...just my humble opinion.

Cheers
M

+1 If it's for stopping the crud then I have to agree, great product. :thumb2

Don't think it desperately needs the GS l logo as well as the LC as it has GS on the bike each side in biggish letters.

I have the large BMW soft bag, and I suspect it's not going to sit well on this wider rack, and the underside straps won't fit?

Possibly mate - its where to draw the line, I`ve tried to keep this as small as I can however there is a wide rack for the GSA.............

Would this be better?

It does, but if I put that on my bike my wife is going to expect me to serve breakfast :-)

The soft bag has a recessed centre section in its underside where the retaining strap is located. It really needs a narrower rack rather than wider. But probably too limited a market to make it worth producing.

My Tourer Crud Catchter has arrived and been fitted. One comment though: the bottom of the crud catchter rubs on the original fit sump guard thingy.

shiny has arrived and fitted by oceans to the bike
:D Oh yeah and the bike has finally arrived as well:JB:JB:JB:ChrisKelly
but still not seeing it till the begining of june:blast:blast

While in Ocean with my bike having a s/w update re. the EnduroPro plug, I took a look at Stevie's GS above and the quality of the rad protectors is excellent BUT I would have liked to have seen them in matt black since in that nice bright stainless they become an over whelming feature of the front view of the bike. To my eyes the rad area is best out of sight since it isn't the most aesthetic part of the bike anyway. Most other non GS rad bikes in the showroom seemed to have the actual rads in matt black and to me that seems more usual for most brands. I don't follow why BMW has them in silver.
I have even considered lightly spraying my rads matt black.
Am I alone in this view?

Well TBH I like the `blingy` look myself (but I suppose I would say that) but also to be as fair as I possibly can I must say that I think you have a very valid opinion - I think in black would also look very good and might `understate` (in a good way) the rads. I totally agree about the bare rad looking `naff` but I suppose its due to its function eh?

Yes I think it is possible, looking at my LC, but of course it will have to go behind the following list:

1. Rad protectors.
2. Rear Crud.
3. Pillion seat plate.
Mark, I'm an avid watcher of this thread and have acquired a crud catcher and rad protectors. You mentioned a luggage plate for the pillion seat position. Any further thoughts on that?

I too brought the crud catcher and the rad protectors however from NN as there was a further discount they arrived within one day, i do like bling and the rad covers look a work of art so to paint them black to hide them would be criminal .

Good for you, NN tends to buy everything I make, which of course is very kind of him.

And I suppose we all have differnet opinions, all valid and all must be respected. I feel that there will be lovers of the polished stainless (I am) and also the black look - which also looks good.

Hi Mark

Do you ship your products to Australia?
I could use your crud catcher for down under
How much is shipping to Oz? and how exactly do I place an order, just send money to your paypal?

Thanks
Kris
