Just had this e-mail reply from steven to my enquiry Re: the fault code reader:::

hi Lyn,

Have a look at www.hex.co.za - we launched the product at Auto Africa last week... there you will also find the brochure in PDF. Had a fantastic response - from enthusiasts to dealerships - had five dealer principles there that want to resell - with BMW's permission of course ;-)

Now we are just waiting on the stock that we ordered from the factory - We are estimating it should be with us mid December, but we all know what the Xmas break is like and the slow-down in production, hence i am letting everyone know that we will be commercial in January 2007.

kind regards
Stephan

Interesting Lyn, this must be the PDF wonder how much that will be then?

I suspect lots of us here with 1200's would like to wish you all the best with such a product. Anything that may open up the servicing of the latest models to suitably trained independants like it has already done for cars, can only be of benefit, and also ensure that BMW dealers don't become complacent.

Yep, Stephan did post on here to let us no what he was up to but then all went dead. Handy bit of kit for those who do the long haul stuff in far away places, and another must have tool me thinks. :beerjug:

Anyone bought one? $200 + P+P is a lot to spend on an unknown, unproven product....

I got one the first week they were on sale, comes in handy as I do my own servicing, helps me look at what faults I've had, reset them if necessary, and BMW mechanics don't say a word about you using something other than a GT1. The only thing you can't do with it is re-program

Had mine for a while now and it's a great bit of kit, my tech at the MBW dealer now whats one for his out of hours work:augie

Oh no - another thing to add to the shopping list. These bikes should come with a wealth warning......
