Wonder if anyone has similar problem to me? I had the GS out for a spin yesterday 100mile round trip, heated grips worked perfectly for first half of ride, when got back on bike after 10min, shot off and back on motorway put grips on and nothing! 40mile later pulled up to the lights turned bike off waited a few seconds and restarted, grips worked fine now? plugged gs-911 in today and shown 2 faults as heated grips short circuit. Has happened 3 times now sometimes its just one side though, thoughts anyone?

Had that happen from new on mine. Could never replicate it. People said it was the battery needing replacememt. Seemed to cure it. Happened very very rarely though so I am still skeptical

If you start the bike and disconnect the battery it will continue to run.
If the grip elements have power they will get hot.
Lack of hotness is nothing to do with the battery and everything to do with the crappy heating elements.
You can but new grips from BMW. £120 for the RHS but you do get a free throttle control. £80 for the left.
I bought some Oxford heated gloves instead.
