My fog light switch on my GSA need removing as its intermittent, can someone give me some advice on how to do this please?

Managed to remove the switch, stripped it down, looks like the rocker isn't pushing the white micro switch housing down far enough..

I've had microswitches go on my 1150gs (now gone to a new home). They can wear out. Can you mod the rocker to push further? Perhaps someone has a link for a new switch?! Then you can 'switch' the switch:hapybnce:

I stripped the switch down, just above the micro switch there was a little plastic part which had worn.

In the middle of the plastic part was a round hole and I managed to find a small round headed bolt which fitted nicely in it - Job done!

if you would have done a search this issue and the fix has been discussed many times

saved yourself a few quid there , the switch on my 2011 tc gsa was faulty and it cost £170.00 , luckily it was under warrenty

Some time last year, I put a sliver of plastic under mine which helped. But it's been acting up again so I've run the wires to a toggle switch on the bodywork by the wing deflectors.
The OEM switch is just not worth the hassle of fecking about with.

Sent somehow.

Yep, that's why I took mine off the bike. Mine was still working fine, I just wanted it off the bike.

Bloody Bugger! Excuse my cursing!

Switch was working when I put it back together last night but this morning it seems as if the small bolt inside has dislodged itself....

I'll take it apart again this evening and try superglue on the bolt, failing that I'll go with your idea Younger!

Why bother there are three wires (supply, load and switch indicator bulb) on a long lead that goes to the electrical stuff under the petrol tank. I cit the lead and fitted a crumpled spade connector to each. The switch fits through the top of the beak between the winglet mounting holes. The old switch is still there taking up space but it's better than a bare hole.

If I really want to go back to an original switch, new ones come complete with new lead or just get out the soldering iron and heat shrink sleeves.

Thanks for the info, Ill give it one more go tonight, If it doesn't work then I'll fit an after market switch.

Glued the screw in place, all seems good at the moment.

If this fails, which I suspect it will after a while I'll go with the after market switch idea.
