Morning all.

Took delivery of a lovely 2010 GSA yesterday and there is a fault with the sensor on the side stand; it doesn't recognise when it's "up" and the bike cuts out when you try to move off.

The bike is dry and I have thoroughly cleaned the offending area.

Is it a potential quick fix or more serious?

Any pointers will be greatly appreciated.

Colin.

Damn, that must be annoying.
Is there any way of unplugging it and seeing if that helps in the short term. I'm sure you just want to get out and ride in the first instance.

I seem to remember there is a quick fix to do with putting a jumper/link between the plug terminals to fool it into thinking the side stand is up. But that is about as much as I can remember. I think there are 3 wires so there can't be that many combinations to try.

The process of shorting the sensor is described on the gs911 forum.

Colin, try this......................:- Found on another Forum posted (and thanks to) Roscoe for posting.

Disconnect the connector. Run a small piece of hook-up wire beween pins 1 and 3 (the outer two pins) in the main wiring harness half of the connector. Tape your jumper in place. Start bike and ride away.

Cheers,
John
