The switch for the spot lights on my 2013 GSA has become stiff to operate to the point where it
It feels as if it is about to give up altogether
Has anyone replaced or better still repaired one.? If so any advice on fixing it would be gratefully received
If I can I would like to avoid asking the dealer to fix it .They will probably replace it and give me a bill for £100 +
Spray with ACF 50 has been suggested ..........Apparently it will free it up

Have a search on here.

You can take the switch apart and use a small sliver of plastic to make the switch contact.

Take it apart and fit a thinner piece of yoghourt pot plastic. Aldi might be better than Waitrose. ;)

Also use red grease or silicone grease on the moving parts.

Taking the switch apart seems favourite

Any tips from someone who has done it ?
?

Use a small jeweler's Torx screwdriver and be careful. There are at least two sizes so be sure they fit properly. Use a magnetic tray so the screws don't drop & vanish under the cat bed.

Thanks for that
I have had a look on a parts list and it appears that the switch part is a push fit into the housing body
Is that correct .. And if so will it be possible to gently prise it out

It was a recall on 2012 bikes , talk to your dealer , easy quick refit if covered by warrantee

This reply could well be worth my £12 subscription fee

It's a lovely day today so a bimble to the dealer is on the to-do list

Have been to see dealer

Sorry no.. Not a recall
It needs a new switch £81 plus fitting (Tank off job) plus VAT

Grand total circa £160 .. To replace a crap quality switch with another crap quality one!!

I will try the silicone or WD40 .
Mechanic at dealer says "waste of time it will make feck all difference"

I'm not sure if the plastic fix would work

The problem with this switch it has now got to the point that it can not be turned on or off
The rocker seems to have seized
It has seized in the on position ,so .... Maybe I should just leave it
