Guys, I seem to have a rattle on my 02 GS, it only happens on bumpy roads at low speed, well it maybe happens at high speed also but I can't hear it, seems to be coming from the back of the bike someplace. Have checked all the linkages and nothing seems loose.

Any constructive suggestions?

Rattle

Had a similer problem, turned out to be the centre stand for me. I have a remus on mine, and the bracket that the centre stand rest's on when its up, is not long enough and when you go over a bump and the suspension compresses it allows the stand to hit the swing arm. cured it by sticking a block on to extend the bracket.

Does it do it going over large pot holes? and are you wearing knobblies? I had a rear end noise problem(ooh err! frrrp :D ) I traced it to the extra mudguard thingy. It was hitting the tyre & the lower left side was getting folded under momentarily making a loud BRRRRRP noise. I took the guard off, problem cured :thumb

Absolutely the tool kit.
Take the rear saddle off and thump the top face of the rack load carrier surface. That should prove conclusive.

Have you got a hugger fitted? I had a hugger that needed some fine adjustment because it kept hitting the swing arm, I only noticed it at slow speed on bumpy roads;)

I thought I had a rattle from the rear, turned out to be the Wunderlich adjustable screen being loose!!!

Yeah, mine fell off! :banghead:

I check the bolts every few weeks now and have used loctite locking compound.
