Just as i was going to sell my bike this afternoon, this happens----------

REAR BRAKE LIGHT STAYING ON........
BRAKE FAILURE SHOWING ON DASH............
NO SERVO PUMP NOISE...............

Any ideas [ please don't say " ABS PUMP " ] :yikes :yikes :yikes

:tears :tears :tears

rear brake switch stuck on?

:nenau
but no ABS pump whirl.
Just rang barnsumpers Alton, they say could be ABS sensors / speed sensors, brake light switches or the dreaded pump :tears

Ash
I know feck-all about this system, however the first thing I'd be checking on any electric/ electro-mechanical kit are the fuses, switches (inc. micros), plug connections etc...

Good luck with it :thumby:

I knocked my rear brake switch twice on my servo'd GS. You don't hear any servo noise and the dreaded lamp failure on dash. That's the first thing I'd check, Ash.

checked all of the above, fankee for your thoughts :tears
fecking hammer next........................................................... :anger

Had exactly the same happen to mine Ash.

It was the front brake light switch. :thumb2 With the ignition off pull the front brake lever. If you don't hear a slick click it probably means the micro switch is stuck on. If it's not the front, test the back brake the same way. Hopefully it's one or the other.

Electronic-jiggerry-pokerry might be confused (it is hot today)...
Long shot - disconnect the battery, leave for 10 mins or more to reset all, then reconnect.

REAR BRAKE LIGHT ON
the servo system will not enable if the brake switches are on,the servo will not prime.check the switches ash:thumb2
lever fouling hand guard
rear switch slightly unclipped
i dont know whereabouts you are ,but i have the diagnostic kit if you need to have the codes read.mike

both switches click, but then that could mean a fecked wire etc :blast

I may be remembering wrong but I had a stuck brake light on (I think) my 03 1150 GS. If (and it's a big if) I remember rightly, a new tail and brake light bulb solved it. Is the tail (rather than brake) light already working ?
