Its the only vehicle i've driven / ridden where your visibility decreases when you switch to main beam:confused:......2hrs night riding on Saturday taught me that the headlamp is so fekkin shite on dip or main i'd be better off with one of these taped to the handlebars.:(

When I was living in France last year I often used to ride the XC to work at around 1.30am, being in the french countryside it is pitch black, but I always found the headlight pretty good, I also had a BMW R1100rs at the time and the XC headlight was better than that, suppose it depends what you're used to.

hmm You should try 690EnduroR ... there is a filling that you have candle light in front on You. XCh compared to that have cannon light...

I know that there is not such thing like to much light in night but ...

To rally ride standard light has too little light indeed, to normal/moderate speed committing it can be acceptable. You can always put additional lights e.g. new twisted throttle denali led lights or spot VISIONX 10W leds (looking very similar)

I'm going to look at adjusting it before my next night ride because dip beam seemed to dimly light the road quite a distance ahead and when flicked to main beam is seemed to just light up the clouds. Although when on dipped I didn't get flashed by oncoming cars once nor did it seem to bother the vehicles I was following:confused:

Thanks Lucas , I've seen the Vision X lighting over here in the UK from adventurespec but I didnt really want to put lighting 'bling' on my bike. Its something that could get damaged in an off and also there are other things i'd like to get for the bike instead of spending £100 on lights.

Oh the curse of those blasted H4 bulbs. Dip and Main beam all in one bulb against a single reflector. A big compromise. Calling it shite is being polite.

Have been thinking along the lines of losing the headlight altogether and getting a mount fabricated to hold a couple of projector HID lights.
