few questions panniers / silencer

Hi Everyone few quick questions if thats ok



Genuine panniers do you know if you can put a peaked helmet in the top pannier or doesn't it fit?

Also are the standard panniers water proof had some globe scouts that have leaked on me on a big trip

Finally anyone got the HP Sports silencer any improvement

Schuberth E1 does not fit in the OEM top case

My panniers of not leak and Ive ridden in some shocking rain recently, I do use the OEM liners as well, but the outside has never appeared damp or wet.

Can help with the HP

Arai Tour X just about fits in the top box.

Panniers are waterproof as long as you make sure you don't trap anything in the seal when closing them.

HP silencer was on my bike when I bought it, too loud, too fast and too much loss of engine braking so went back to standard, much better (for me).

This is a 14 plate GSA by the way, so, aluminium boxes.

Yep, loads of room, I get a tour x 3 with peak, litre and a half bottle of water, kitchen roll, twisty rides waterproof iPhone case, pack of cleaning wipes and loads of other stuff I never use in the aluminium top box on my 2014 adventure.

I can get a shoei hornet adv (with peak etc) in the OEM aluminium top box. I use the panniers and topbox without any special liners etc and none appear to leak!

I disagree with all of that. The Akrapovič can isn't particularly loud with the baffle in. It adds little to nothing to the performance nor does it change the engine braking.

It's lighter, looks better and costs an arm and a leg.

Not sure this makes any difference but my helmet is a medium, maybe an XL would be a tighter fit.

I rode home from town without earplugs for the first time ever and felt sorry for every pedestrian I passed, next day, exhaust swapped!
