Filler Cap question ?

Hi,

does anyone know what holds the red part in place on the Filler cap ?

Mine fell off the other day

It looks like it may have been held in place by a thin o-ring or something similar ?

Just looked at mine, it looks exactly like yours, I see not spring rings or anything, maybe it is glued on.

I guess it is hard to gauge whilst it is in place, but when it is off there is no sign of any gluing, only a small indentation, hence the question of an o-ring or similar.

I asked the dealer and all they could say was it didn't show it on the exploded view !

It uses 'the force', so unless you are a Jedi, it's not coming off..

In that case I must be full of the force (wind as my missus likes to refer to it ;-) ), as it came off without me touching it !!!

Stuck a couple of rubber seals on it and slip it back on. Appears to have stayed in place on my last ride.
