final drive fill capacity

hi just a quick question,

i'm here in cambodia and need to change the final drive oil. i need to know the quantity quoted for a 1150 gs 'adventure', i assume the oil is '90' grade and not '80' grade, i can only get '90' and assume it is ok.

that's all, anything else i should know, let us know.

0.25l according to the manual and 90 is also what bmw spec for the 1150

Quick and easy way

SAE 90 grade should be fine.
A easy way is to fill it up to the first thread of the bevel drive filler plug. This is of course the bottom of the thread. Once filled up to there slowly turn the wheel and see if it drops down again(remember to fit the drain plug before doing this, simple but it happens I have heard...) as the oil will move and settle a bit, if required fill it up a tiny bit more. I am referring to the bottom inside of the filler screw thread not the top section.
