My old RS had oil for the gearbox, shaft and rear wheel.

The GS has oil in gearbox and oil in rear wheel - but I can't find the bit in between....:thedummy

How do you oil/grease the UJs in the shaft section please? These new fangled ones are new to me. Have I got to take the condoms off at each end and find a nipple to play with

Nope.
It's called a Paralever and they are a Spawn of the Devils invention:spitfire
Only the good old monolevers have the oily bit 'twixt G/box and Bevel drive..
Do a search on paralevers:augie

I had a paralever that used to run in oil

but then I also had a leaking gearbox seal :blast

The RS had no trouble whatever - but what is all this about old monolevers?

Mine was a twin shock :rob Nothing went wrong with it and the first one racked up nearly 300,000 miles.......the next one went round the clock......the one I still have is brand new at 26 years old and only 38,000 :D

Doh'hhh
Maybe I should have been clearer ALL Twinshock and Monolever BMW's are oily shaft.
The Paralever as fitted to GS [not g/s ] and late airheads has a dry shaft which is EVIL:spitfire
