Final Drive Oil Leak

The final drive on my 07 1200GS seems to have developed a bit of a leak, a film of oil appearing all over it. I consulted my Haynes manual to find out if it was difficult job to change the seals...........all it said was take to a BMW dealer. Hardly worth buying the manual!
Has anyone changed these seals, if so how hard, do you need specialist tools etc. Any advice greatly appreciated.

Found it now. Got to Page 12 before and missed the relevant info!!!!!!!!

Would still like to know if the seal goes back in easily enough without the BMW tool, would a large socket do the trick?

yes it would just watch your depth.

Job Done

Replaced the seal. Quite easy. For anyone else contemplating doing this job, an oil filter socket, external diameter approx 70mm, makes a perfect drift for getting the new seal into place. Result!
