Final Drive oil seal replacement - Co Down

F*ck me is it a gold plated seal ?

There is supposed to be a "Little" bit of play in the bearing set up (C3 spec)

But if there were no sparkles in the oil and it was not grumbly or any roughness I'd be inclined to go for a seal But not having laid hands on it for a good feel .....

Well if the seal comes out without taking it ALL apart, maybe... But if it was mine and the intention was to keep the bike, yea, if have it rebuilt.

We don't have the mileage of the bike or its history, both of which might persuade me even more to have it rebuilt!

There was a recall for replacement of the disc carrier - cracks in the bosses where the little allen screws fit. If this bike needs that warranty job, could cover part of the other costs.

Went for replacement oil seal only, and collected the bike this afternoon.

All seems well so far, but time will tell
