final drive problems

04 1200 gs .inside final drive unit at bottom of bevel gear infront of needle bearing there is a small pin in the bearing housing ,do you have to remove pin before you can remove bevel gear ?and what is part number for pin, cheers andy.

Don't know if this affects yours but it looks like early final drives weren't rebuildable-

My bad, if you've removed the associated fixings, nut and threaded ring, the shaft should come out without removing the pin. The pin holds in the bearing. Hope thats a bit more help.
