What do you use and have you ever had the unfortunate need to test it?
I have seen the Wunderlich bar thing, a big single crash bobbin and various covers in plastic and CF. Prices vary hugely of course.

I have just fitted the Touratech crash bobbin and the cover that wraps around and under the final drive housing. Being TT it is not cheap, but if it helps should I have a spill or a very determined rock takes aim at the fd, then the TT system might help. It also might be just an easy way to spend money. I am hoping it is both.

I have the Evotech final drive protector. A mate had the R&G version (both are the bobbin style, rather than a bar) and was unfortunate to crash on diesel on a fast sweeping bend while on holiday, and it saved the final drive. Although the bike still needed to be repaired, it enabled him to carry on with his trip.:thumb

Thanks Simmo, yes, those Touratech ones are a bit pricey, bit if they do the job it's a lot cheaper than a final drive!

Hi Nutty, I have a bobbin of my old RT that looks like it should also fit the LC, so will give that a try then.
PS - the triple black is going great btw:-). I had its first service a couple of weeks ago, Dean mentioned you may have placed an order ;-).

The bobbin should be all you need.:thumb

Yep, bike should be in at the end of August, parts off to be painted, and hopefully on the road early September.:beerjug:

I think it depends what you want it for. For road, the bobbin type is fine, for off road, if your worried about rocks etc you'll need the Touretech type, which covers the underside / side of the final drive

Thanks fredaroony, but I have got my old RT bobbin which looks like it will fit, so although tempted I expect your location will make it to pricey to post to the UK )-:

My bike is treated as a giant supermoto, so thanks crotchrocket, I will just use the bobbin. It was just a case of if the bike takes a small tumble/drop what protection will stop the final drive contacting the ground :-) .

Actually it's not expensive at all to the UK via airmail, I sent quite a few things to the US and UK in the past. PM me though if you are interested.
