After my recent coming together with a car and the resulting GS sliding down the road, my FD ended up with a little road rash. Now I know many of you like to ride around on a battled scared bike, but does anybody make something to protect the FD in the event of a spill?

I came up with the folowing which is attached with velcro. I figure that if a knee slider which is held on with velcro can stay put, then maybe this can. However, I'm limited to a hacksaw, drill and hammer in my shed and I'm sure something better could be made?

As the FD costs around £900 if it had to be replaced due to and insurance claim, this one damaged item could see your bike possibly scrapped.

Has anybody come accross something already on the market?
