Has anyone had the rubber perishing on the rubber boot connecting the final drive to the gearbox? Mine has cracks and is beginning to open up but is not all the way through yet.

Has anyone come across a rubber glue, repair or sealent that would fix the cracks instead of having to change it?

If I do need to change it, is there an instruction thread to remove the whole drive shaft - I can't find one?

Thanks

It's easy to change and you can do a fd unit oil change whilst your there.
Take a look at the fd unit oil change threads and also on the yankie 1200GS info site, there is a comic strip on how to do the job (oil change that is).
The rubber boot won't be expensive, but the damage that can be caused by water ingress can be terminal.

Timpo.
