finally tried a 12GS

Well the second attempt on a 12GS and I was much happier. However the one thing I found that I had difficulty controlling the bike with both feet on the pegs at walking pace. I aslo had great difficulty filtering and doing slow speed turns.

On the faster stuff I was find. Does it get easier to control the bike as you get used to it or is that jsut the way it is?

I could not find the back brake at all as well. BTW I currently ride a blade

Back brake is under your right foot

Seriously though, it is set inboard a bit so you may find you needs to move your foot in a bit to actuate it.

Being a taller bike, it can feel a bit tippy at slow speeds - I find the same comparing my 1200 (and 1150 before it) to my RSV. However, once you've ridden it for a bit, you'll find it is highly manouverable - just use a bit of the mysterious back brake to balance things when moving really slowly (below walking pace).

I know what you mean about the back brake being a little hard to find first time. I fitted the Touratech pedal extension which has helped quite a bit. As for the low speed stuff, I've never had a problem. The preload setting at the rear can make a noticeable difference. I'd try fiddling with it so that you got it to suit your height/preference.

Apart from that though they're great aren't they!

yeah it was weird it taken me a long time to like the 1200gs the 1150 was easy to like but I wasnt happy with the weight or the gearbox - both now corrected. However I think I will either wait to see what the adv is like

However I want to make sure I will be able to happily control it at lower speeds

Back brake real pain like Blackburnlee, I have the brake extension which makes it better though it could still do with another 1/2 inch especially off road.
