Got a new battery and she sailed through her MOT this morning.

First time I've been on the bike since our wee GOTC meet :jager at Glen Clova in June. I really do need to get out on her more. I've done less than 3,200 miles since the last MOT last June (aye, I know that was 14 months ago :augie) and I reckon that 2.5k of those miles was a two week trip to Germany and Austria last September.
 
Shame no-one has taken up the baton and organises anything.

2 year ago just summer runs me and the Rabster clocked up over 10k

2600miles on two saturdays and a sunday and still managed tae build a hoose :cool:

My last outing was to Gert's funeral last year. I haven't actually ridden a bike on the road this year (yet) :blast

Too busy catching up with house & garden maintenance and so on.

And to think I used to do 20,000 miles P.A. :eek:

I just pumped the tyres up and put the batteries on charge, I MUST get out next week. I need to sort the carburaton on the 100GS.

I finished work at 3.30 and had a run up to St Andrews. Parked up on a pavement and sat ootside a cafe and had a coffee. Run hame via the coast road. Twice oot on the bike in wan day :eek:

I might be gettin my mojo back :ronno

Any advice as to where to look 'n find it, na forget it, I know where I'm going wrong....need to get north of the Border again, full of traffic and Oonyaks' febs doon here :rob :D
 
Not many miles for me recently, either.

I've not been able to do my 'all day' runs over to the West Coast and back as we have the dog now, but I've not been able to the more local runs either - just busy with shit, really.

Had a good belt round Shetland a couple of weeks back, did me favourite track up to Cullivoe on Yell, but one track i had earmarked for exploration on Unst has had a 'road closed' sign put on it.....must investigate next time. Plus I was looking for all the smaller lochs that are accessable to a fly rod carrying GS - so hopefully I'll have more opportunity to get out there on the bike later in the year.
 
Bunch of poofs, my bike did 300 miles yesterday and today :blagblah

Though my brother was up and borrowed it while I was at work :augie
 
I havn't been out on my 1150 since Jockgrim last year:eek: I have however had a few trips out on my new Triumph this year but only about 1000 miles as the weather has been absolutely awful. I was only telling Rab last week I was hoping to get over to Skye for a blast but it has just lashed it down.

Anyway, I'm off to the wine festivals in Germany and meeting Bhud in Italy for more drinkls and onwards to Slovenia in 2 weeks time so cant wait:beer:

Johnny's right though we need someone to just organise a ride out (and I'm as guilty as everyone on this score)....

Oh and I've probably clocked up 6 miles on the x-challenge I bought earlier this year but that was due to not been able to get the fuel cap off........then the shocker kept playing up.............then the key snapped...............when I finally got it running it was over heating traced to lack of water in the cooling system, this is after a full service from BMW!!!!

Anyway, i've got it sorted now and will be giving that some stick offroad when I get back from Europe:green gri I may even leave it at my parents to do some green laning in Wales and the peak district:rolleyes:
 
Maybe an organised big SS run doon sooth? Weekend in York......lakes....Newcastle, burn the tyres aff a bit?
