I prefer the red to the one with blue wheels. My mate is about to press the button on one with blue wheels, but I don't know if the novelty will wear off with that colour (unlike the paint on a BMW, before anyone tries to beat me to it!

I think that colour might be trendy now but in a few years they will be cheaper than the red or charcoal ones - red & black vehicles always sell regardless of fashion and will often have slightly better residuals.

The lack of kg was one of the reasons the bike came to my attention and I went to have a test ride ASAP.
I really like the bike. I was hopping down the M50 one junction yesterday from the Newent turn to Ross. I accelerated at max for the first time properly and worked out I need to tuck in a bit. Sitting upright like on the Adv bikes is not recommended at that rate of acceleration. I came back home through the Forest of Dean from Monmouth and there wasn't any difficulty zipping past the 5pm traffic.
Apart from recalibrating for the additional acceleration the problems are few so far. Obviously, the suspension isn't ideal for very bumpy roads and there are a few goat tracks I rode on the S10 that I'll give a miss on the Tracer. Not sure about the seat yet. Longest I have ridden in one go is 70 miles and it felt a bit uncomfortable at the end of that trip. Time will tell whether it beds in or whether I look for other options.
Having a chain is a PITA but an an auto-oiler will reduce the time messing with it. I went for the Tutoro one.
The lack of weight is one of the main reasons I went for this bike it's just so light compared to my last bike that I have to look twice when I've put it on the centre stand cause it's so easy plus i think it looks cool

The Mrs TDM was a filling rattler, impossible to ride at even a moderate pace on a fairly smooth road, a fork / shock re-work later (about £400) and it is a different bike.
Many Yamaha shocks can be rebuilt, on the TDM it was only £90 for the re-valve plus about £50 for the service and I think they charged a paltry £25 for the ride-in / ride-out service. Forks were a bit more expensive as the pathetic Yamaha springs needed replacing (far too soggy)
She now bombs along most back lanes without complaint, and it handles better as well.
Having spent £8k on the bike, another £500 or so to get it spot on is a small price to pay
I use motull chain cleaner and it's so easy . Spray . Leave . Wipe off with a water soaked sponge . Dry . Re lubricate
oh and the engine is stonking
Yep . I still can't get over how stonking it is . Maybe the novelty will fade , but the Bike nips along so well with good handling too .
