hello mate, i bought the same bike and package a few months ago, although in the triple black colour scheme, all i have done is put the fender extender on, crudcatcher on, and spayed the bike with acf 50, ive had some great rides up cumbria, last year, and will be doing plenty more this year plus the yorkshire dales and the highlands, mostly short camping trips. best fun ive had, and also met some great lads off this forum too.
The wifey says I actually need to become more "minimalistic".
One of the first things I do on BMW GS’s is supplement the modest fenders. There are different ones out there making extenders and guards. These from Maier are hardly noticeable, but really do help keep the crud off the front cover and rear suspension. Around $100 for both. Unfortunately, being black and indoors, they didn’t photo well.
Here’s the rear mud guard and front extender I just put on my 2012 GSA.
I put the same ones on my 09 GS when I got it. This is a pic if of it now with 27K.
welcome matey
did you buy the bike from southport?its just with u saying your going round scotland with the dealer?if so ill see ya there, ive been going with them for 6 years now its a crackin do...its just ashame big roy wont be with us this time.enjoy the bike pal.....
Welcome Matt and my advice is to pay your £12 subs and you will be able the access all parts of the forum including the for sale and wanted section. You may be able to pick a lot of stuff up for your bike there and save yourself a fortune
Im making a front crud guard from this stuff and rubber edge trim. Its woven stainless wire so no corrosion worries. The edge trim is simple rubber trim for 2mm thick material. Hopefully I can use Dzuz fasteners to make removal easy for cleaning.
