For anyone that may be interested in doing this the North West Ambulance Service are running their next course on Saturday 10th March 2012 in Preston.
http://www.firstaid-training.com/firstbikeonscene.asp
Currently three places are taken but it needs a minimum of five students to run it. Maximum number of students is 12.
The cost is £69.00 per head and instructs the students how to:
1.Understand Trauma and the mechanism of injury.
2.Understand how to protect the scene and snatch rescue.
3.Demonstrate Basic Life Support.
4.Understand the correct procedures for spinal management.
5.Demonstrate the correct procedure for removing a crash helmet.
Everything I have read about this course is that it is very informative and worthwhile doing. You never know what you might come across on a nice ride out!
Maybe see you there (I'm one of the three).
