A fine turnout of tossers last night at the Swan at Radcot - I think we had 18 at the pub one point.
A big 'Thank You' to Clive who shipped the Reading mob en masse in to swell the numbers - and then disappeared before I could buy him a pint. The NOG crowd turned out with Chris A and Steve (Possu), but they forgot to bring the freebies.
A good selection of bikes; several of those (now) common-as-muck 1200 Advs, plenty of 1150s, a couple of 650s. including Chris A's which was carrying more mud than the neighbouring field, and a bumblebee round-the-world airhead that I've been coveting since I saw it at the 1200Adv launch at SPC.
Furthest ridden award, I reckon, goes to Donny (hope I got that right, I'm crap with names) who rode all the way from Leighton Buzzard, but we had tossers from Thame, Middle Barton, Reading, Bicester and all points north. Shedracer and Co made it in the end too - good to meet you.
I think the pub was delighted to see us as Thursday evenings is normally pretty quiet in there. There were a few familiar faces from Foxes Diner and GS events, but lots of unfamiliar ones - which was brilliant. Nick Marshall even turned up on his bike (it wasn't raining), which must have doubled his annual mileage
Chris A (carcher) has suggested we get together at Garsington for the next bash, on a Wednesday night (curry night) - I think he means this one "CURRY NIGHT £6.95
Choice of 3 homemade curries in addition to the normal restaurant menu, Tel. 01865 361395, 6pm onwards, Three Horseshoes, Garsington" but I should think he'll be along later to fill in the gaps.
And a big Sorry to the R1150 rider (arse - forgotten your name, sorry again) from Middle Barton (and we were just talking about the fords there before you arrived), who rolled up just as everyone was buggering off and whose new GPS had navigated him across a few farm tracks to get there!
See you at the next one in Garsington, and then June really ought to be Cassington bike night...
