First post

Here we are. Me and my RT. 06 Model. 64,000 kms of smiles so far.
I like reading about everything GS related but prefer to ride an RT.
Having said that I'm renting a GS ADV for a week in Andalucia in early October. Will be I be converted by the time I get back? We'll see. :)

Come on let us know ...

have you been converted :thumb

Oh yes! Converted a long time ago. Currently on a 2006 R1200RTSE which will be changed for the 2011 model soon :JB

I've got a R1200RTSE as a loaner while the GSA is in for some work. I gotta say - the steering does seem to take some getting used to! I'm still not convinced about it yet. I feel more confident on B roads on my GSA with knobblies than I do with the RT.

Is it just me - or did you all notice a big difference in steering?

Yep. Just you :augie

Unkind! RT's are 'quicker' steering than GS's. T'was the first thing I noticed when making the change last year. But it soon feels normal. Rather like riding on a different set of tyres, then you get used to it. There'll be no going back now.

2010 rt se

I part exchanged my K1200GT for a R1200RT a few weeks ago i know ive made the right choice, The GT was totaly unreliable and cost me a small fortune in the 2 years i had it
Although the RT hasn't the uuumph of the GT, its as fast if not faster from a standing start than the GT, The stearing is lighter and its easier to handle at low speeds.
I prefer the RT in every aspect appart from the MIRRORS! which i find useless, have orderer some mirrors and adaptors from the wunderlech site.

I had the same "mirror" problem with mine but I bought some Bar Raisers and that cured the issue. Great clear view now. I was a GS owner and although a nice bit of kit I did suffer some reliability issues - I have now had my RT since May and done about 4000 miles on it including a holiday in France and Spain - the bike was brilliant and I have now "bonded" with it.

At first the steering takes some getting used to but after a few thousand miles you just seem to click with it.
