My bike is going in on Thursday for its 600mile service and I have a few niggles to highlight to them, hoping they will sort them out.
One of them, is that I suspect I might have the "cutting out for no reason" problem as on three seperate occasions the bike has simply died, not stalled, just died. Instantly fired up on the starter but was disconcerting when it happened. The similarity that I had was the bike was running quite hot (fan was cutting in and out frequently) and I was slipping the clutch quite a bit in order to do very slow speed manoevers (twice filtering and once on a technical section off road) and all three times the revs were higher than idle speed (hence splippng the clutch).
The advice that I'm looking for is "what can I ask them for in terms of evidence to show the current / latest software updates they have applied" and once I've got that, how do I validate what the latest ones are?
Cheers.

I don't know if he didn't know or even if it had any. The bike was running fine when it went in and fine when it came out. This is about as helpful for you as he was for me. Sorry.
