a ride out and possibly a test ride on something interesting while they service yours.
Exactly what I do - rode the WC last time - pleased to get back on mine afterwards too..

I have too travel 120 miles to my nearest dealer meaning a day off work plus the fuel costs. Ohh BTW I didnt buy the bike from them because they didnt bother their arse to get back to me when I asked them to supply a new bike, so why would I support them ? They didnt help me when I was looking for a bike.
...so its Dundee the dealership that didn't want my money that is my nearest...

Same to you. Thats the problem up here, we are miles and miles away from the main dealers, i wouldn't use the one in Inverness 35 miles away because ive heard several horror stories about them, the Aberdeen one doesn't do bikes anymore, so its Dundee the dealership that didn't want my money that is my nearest. A guy that used to have a place in North Wales has set up just a few miles from me and his operation looks the dogs danglies, he gave me a guided tour on Saturday and i was impressed. He used nothing but Castrol oil and oem filters etc. He also FOC changes the diff oil every service regardless and he checks the throttle bodies and TPS etc everytime so id say he is pretty thorough wouldnt you ? There is no requirement to use main stealers for servicing as you know as long as OEM filters etc are used so i think given the time and distance id have to travel i will give him a go.
Realistically it would be nice if these running in services were free, after all they are a bit of a shake down service.
I've had free 1st services with, Yamaha on my first road bike. Honda on two CBR's and Suzuki in 2007. I never asked, it was just part of the running in etc.
Have these always been charged for, or is it a new standard? & if new do you currently have to pay for this with other brands?
