Fish Dash 27th Dec

Be careful in the morning lads. Just seen the RTE weather forecast and they are giving -3C or -4C in the midlands.:eek: The roads are right'n'dry though, so hopefully it won't be too bad. :eek

TG,

Glad to meet ya, and glad you got home safe, and more or less well. I can't decide whether I am wrecked or not, too wrecked to work it out!
Jaysus, Flash sent us the long way round and no mistake. He is a cold hearted hoor! All for a bloody fish supper!!

It was a great spin thanks to all who came along, as always it's the peeps that make the day!

got home safe an sound, missus had to come out an throw a kettle a boilin water over me to get me off a da bike, had a great day thanks uncle bin and to all the hardy hoors that turned out, aiden gets furthest travelled :thumb2,my next fish dash is to burdocks in werbruk st, yiz can all fcuk off :aidan

Trev and I had intended heading over through the midlands on Saturday morning, but the frost was so hard that I thought the better of it and decided to go M1 to Dublin then N4 west towards Loughrea.

The frost didn't seem to bad south of Dundalk, so I thought we'd try going Slane, Navan, Trim and on to Kinnegad. Mistake. A big slide near Slane, then black ice most of the way to Navan and we chickened out and took the N3 to Dublin then headed west to Athlone on the new motorway.

Trev and I stayed at Jochen's then came up the road today.

It was a great day and it was good to see you all and to have so many bikes out.

Lads, great day out. Thanks for looking after a newbie, I learned loads. Am absolutely wrecked!!
Thanks again.
pete.

It was good to meet you Peter. Hope to see you out on future runs. :thumb2

Thanks Aidan, will definitely go out again, might get a few more miles under my belt first, was definitely a bit of a jump up in terms of what I had been doing on the bike. Some might say it showed. :augie

Fair play to ya going out with that crowd ;)

A bit of a cold start to the day alright but a great spin none the less.

I chickened out of heading to Hollywood via the back roads & I'm very glad I did - they were still 'interesting' this afternoon :eek Instead I travelled direct to the M7 & went to Abbeyleix. Encountered a patch of freezing fog around Portlaoise but got through that and met R2D2. We'd a bit of a wait 'til the others turned up but once we got going things improved.

Picked up the final group in Loughrea & I think we'd 15 bikes when we got to Salthill. Good to meet loads of new faces & a few oldies I hadn't seen in a while :thumb2

As someone said 'that wasn't the best fish & chips in Ireland' so the search continues. Anyone any suggestions ? ;)

Thanks Bin for organising & leading a great run - after 2 days of family it was just what we needed :D

My one & only pic is of the posse arriving in Abbeyleix to 'collect' R2D2 & myself :

will definitely go out again

Good man :thumb2
I think you did really well in circumstances that prevented a few more seasoned riders from venturing outdoors. Plus, you're a Tosser now so your attendance will be expected on a regular basis :beerjug:

Hi,

It sure was a bit of an epic! To use two tanks of gas in a Summer day would be fair going, but in the middle of Winter.......Rapid!

Had to go West today, by car, and the temperature never came above +3, and was -2 beyond Longford, slippy roads, light with skidmarks flashing on the dash..hmm.

All back home in one piece, can't see me making the Blooms bimble tomorrow sorry to say.

I guess all heard about the prog on RTE2 1930hrs 29/1 about Stan Woods ?
