Would that be Downings in Co.Donegal

spent a week there a few years ago and don't remember a chippy

BMW club organised a weekend there about two years ago.
Downings is a nice place. The Hotel was Crap and the service / food in the Hotel was worse than crap.

Never seen a chippy in Downings..................couple of hotels and a class wee café up close to this gun which came off the Laurentic but that's all.....
Sijohnston is right about Tommy's in Ballykelly............one of the best....remember sitting on the path outside last year coming from the NW200 eating my chips and Tommy himself came out and gave me an ice cream to finish them off...Top Man!!!
Also a good chippy across the street...Brians...............and in Limavady....Mc Nulty's..................

Take yer pick......................(and take a fork tae eat yer chips!!!)

Spent a lot of time there (a few years ago mind) & there wasn't a decent chippy. At one stage the hotel (on the main drag, can't remember the name) sold chips outta the kitchen through a side window.

Fish, IIRC, was processed 'square' cod

and Downings used to be a wee fishing village
