Fitting Autocom into Shoei Raid2

Well I had a go at installing the speakers which went fine and all wires out of the way. I seem to have the boom in the right place but its currently held in place with duct tape in a few places, so could do with making that a bit more permanent, and I wouldn't mind it being recessed a little bit (anyone got a photo of how they have done that?).

Gave the system a test run on battery's and ipod worked fine, but phone didn't work in Aux1, but I think that's because it has a stereo jack for the hands free as it can be used to play MP3’s etc - I noticed their is a stereo lead available looking on the chainspeed website last night. When I plugged the phone into Aux2 I could here everything fine, but had no voice.

Got a Multitech yesterday as my Arai was way too painful with the autocom fitted. Speakers and wires in. However, does anyone have any tips onthe best way to secure the Din plug. In the arai I was able to cable tie it to the poltstyrene insert and secure it that way.

In the multitech I can't see anywhere to cable it.

I have read through all the posts and can't see any reference to it. Sorry if I missed it.

Autocom and Maplin do a neat plastic half-clip. The half-clip sticks to the helmet (or any flat surface) with double-sided tape and holds the Din plug in place.

We fit the wiring loom from where the cheek strap comes out from the inner shell of the helmet. We use a strip of self adhesive velcro ran over the loom to hold the loom down in place. No cable ties are needed at all to fit a Multitec.

Thanks for both replies. Opted for sticking down the din plug with the new No nails removable strips and then put very sticky tape over top to make sure it stays put.

Went for a ride of 60 miles and absolute bliss. My head doesn't hurt, the helmet is so light and the sound is terrific at all speeds. I did find that the boom or sensor did pick up wind noise when the visor is up, this then reduced the music but went straight up again when wind noise dropped. Can live with that.

One happy paddy :aidan
