Just fitted my old Bumot aluminium panniers from my R1250GSA onto my new R1300GSA using a set of Lone rider Motoracks for the 1300, fitted straight on. Cost £275 for the racks as opposed to £900 from Bumot for new set of panniers and frames. Also fitted my Bumot top box by drilling 4 new holes in the mounting plate and using 4 spacer 25mm long 13mm diameter with 6mm hole through.
You don't need to buy a whole new pannier system!

You could have just bought the Bumot rack and spacer and used your existing panniers.

Not according to Adventure Bike Shop. My panniers would not fit the bumot racks, I would need new bumot panniers to fit the r1300gsa racks.
I agree with GSCarlos.

I reserched this exact topic when I sold my GSA and thought about putting my Bumots on one of my other bikes, The mounting system is slightly different on the 1250GSA frames compared to the Bumot frames and therefore the panniers are not inter-changable

When I bought my 1300GS I had the option of buying a new set of panniers or using my 1250 panniers and buying an adapter.

The same panniers can be fitted on the 1300GSA

so I am surprised that you have been told this
