Hi all,

I'm considering fitting some of the FF50 spot lights to my Adventure to work alongside the useless high beam.

I have the BMW fog lights fitted and want to mount the FF50's above them.

I would like to use the bracket on the crash bars and use some bracket or drilled bars to moiunt the FF50's thus avoiding additional light bars etc.

Has anyone done this and if so how did you go about it. I can picture in my mind what i need but have been unable to find suitable drilled lengths of stainless steel bars

Thanks :beerjug:

I took off the crash bar on my 06 and tig welded on 2 threaded bosses. very neat a rub with a wire brush and it looks factory.

I might be able to help

geezer, send me some images and drawings of what you would like the brackets to look like and i`ll make ya something. If it works then we can come to some sort of very advantageous cost to you (its normally wine) otherwise `nothing ventured nothing gained..........`

Hi Mark,

I'll try and get some pics to you. I just need to see the underside of the FF50's to see what the bracket is like.

I used to have some but cant remember

Thanks for the offer :thumb

I've had these on my PD for over three years now. Cost less than a £1 each. No problems with lights bouncing and have survived off road riding and a road crash along with a 6,500 mile trip to Istanbul and back. Used by pipe fitters to hang pipes to threaded rods. A button headed allen bolt through a nylock nut to lock it all into place.

I had a bracket made by a friend of mine to mount 2 FF50's (fog and spot) a side and got rid of the BMW driving lights. He's very good with sheet metal and it does the job now for about 2 years. It is an over under design. PM me for the details and I can send you a scanned image of the rough drawing we made.

Dammit, I'll have to subscribe again to get pm or contact me [email protected].

Another option is a tube (similar to the BMW spotlight tube) that sits above the main crash bar (BMW tube sits below) It would need careful bending but no welding other than a tag to carry the lamp. Or use a clamp-on lamp.

I'm planning to fit some high output LED spots because my main beam pattern is no higher or longer than the dip - just brighter. Adjusting the headlight to get a useful main beam would set the dip beam too high, dazzling oncoming drivers.

Tightfisted fecker....:augie

It expired during the last week and pay day is Wednesday and I've got a bet on with the missus. Anyway do you give discount on your Alaska tour? I like to haggle for a good price (you see, my dad is a farmer in SA so I copied his style of getting the best you can't afford at rock bottom price with everything incl using the banks money on a 90 day final notice before coughing up). Hopefully in a few years time :D.

Don't forget to post a pic when the bike turns over 100000mls this year :thumb.

I've got FF50s mounted to my GS using a Migsel bar. The FF50s have been Les'd.

I have mounted the FF-50 on a aluminium plate, with P-clips mounted on the crashbars.
A cheap solution, 8 euro's total ex FF50 lights.

Those are really something, but not exactly low cost. :D

My bike has HID on dip beam but the main beam just brightens the same area of road. The distance is still dark and the beams are not individually adjustable, so I'm looking for some spot lights to back up the main beam

Some powerful LED lights on eBay lately

From Hong Kong so UK customs will add VAT -

From UK looks very similar. Less powerful but still double the light of a 50W halogen -

£103 delivered :nenau Feckin cheap compared to what you get for your money.

I have a pair and when I first put them on it was :Motomartin

Worth every single penny :thumb

Typical! I was confusing $ and £ Sterling :blast

My headlight issue might be the HID on dip but these will sort it out.
