Fitting my Gaucho...

As this is my first look at using the Gaucho have fitted it and taken some pictures. Have not yet test rode it.

Lay gaucho on its back and fold the leading edge over, about 12/18CM. I did mine to the stich in the front retaining strap. When folded this is what it will look like.

Am assuming this is for chaining it to your bike as it would be easy to steal.

Just need a test ride now...with heavy rain....

Only problem I have always used a tank bag. Which now won't fit. Unless anyone already using a Gaucho has an answer.

Are you sure that front strap is correct ???

I suspect it should go around the headstock - not the bars.

I wait to be corrected !

I put mine around the headstock. There's also a cable attachment that goes underneth the bike and fixes to the shitebag.

having never seen one fitted before or being able to read Italien...you could be right....

saw those as well but didn't think they would last very long against the cat....or the need for them....

I've never used them on mine as well

I didn't know what they were for when i fitted mine. it wasn't until the following year when Tim Cullis bought a gaucho and he had the cable fitted that i knew what is was .

Also, no need to blow up the air bags very much at all.

It maybe OK if your a lightweight rider who just looks and polishes the bike.


But when your riding 500 miles a day in temperatures of -6 and ice and snow on the ground you don't really worry what they look like, you just want something that works

Test Ride....

As it was such a lovely day decided to refit the gaucho, fitted top strap round the headstock...., and try it out, but before I go on, purchased the gaucho hoping to be able to use it in the wet and not have wear wet weather trousers, so of I went. So after 189 miles it kept me legs warm but still got wet through. So back to wet weather trousers....anybody recomend a good pair as mine are getting leaky......
